Dinner wouldn’t be nearly as fun without these culinary pioneers to blaze the trail. This year’s list of food blogging mamas, curated with the help of our esteemed panel, includes both internet superstars and virtual unknowns, amateurs and James Beard Award-winning chefs. Some will make you laugh, some will make you cry, but all will make you hungry for more innovative meal ideas. Who: Elizabeth Nyland, a mom of one son and one daughter in Victoria, Canada
Why we love this blog: This was Elizabeth Nyland at age 18. Here she is now. Battling weight issues for much of her life, Nyland writes her part-fitness, part-food blog with an understanding that eating well can be hard. Nyland herself follows a paleo diet, so you’ll find tons of recipes like paleo-friendly protein waffles and kale and bison roll-ups, but true to the blog’s name, you’ll also run into recipes that chuck health tips out the window. Nyland’s voice is what makes this blog sing. Like her other readers, we love her recipes, but we really love her honesty and relatability.
