Dinner wouldn’t be nearly as fun without these culinary pioneers to blaze the trail. This year’s list of food blogging mamas, curated with the help of our esteemed panel, includes both internet superstars and virtual unknowns, amateurs and James Beard Award-winning chefs. Some will make you laugh, some will make you cry, but all will make you hungry for more innovative meal ideas. Who: Jennifer Perillo, a mother of two daughters based in Brooklyn
Why we love this blog: Perillo started her life over at age 32 when she applied for an internship with Working Mother Magazine. Armed with a background in the restaurant industry, she worked her way up to Contributing Food Editor for the magazine before launching her blog. In Jennie’s Kitchen is the best of both worlds: awesome recipes that taste like they came from a pro backed by top-notch writing and editing. Until Perillo’s first cookbook comes out in April, readers will have to turn to the blog for recipes like her no-cook smoky watermelon gazpacho or her mouthwatering French onion tart.
