It’s Friday, so clearly it must be time for breaking news from my “it-must-be-five-o’clock-somewhere” files: For 23 hours I was in New York City. The reason was business, but I did get to sample a so-called “limeade slushie” made with soju vodka at Momofuku restaurant. I loved it so much that I wanted to buy my own slushie machine. Then I sobered up and realized I didn’t have to, because it would be incredibly easy to replicate this refreshing cocktail without one. Here’s how: Drop a big scoop of sorbet (I like the “zesty lemon” flavor from Haagen-Dasz best) into a cocktail glass. Top with a shot of icy vodka, and half-a-cup to a cup of tonic depending on how strong you like your slushies. Muddle gently with a spoon until the sorbet softens and begins to melt. Drink. Back to your regularly scheduled program.
