Vermont Artisanal Cheddar Cheeses: Aged to perfection!

Cheddar Cheese

One of my favorite things to serve when I have people over is a cheese plate. It makes a great after dinner dessert {very European} or it’s even perfect as an appetizer. It’s quick, easy and who doesn’t like cheese. Open a few bottles of wine to go with and you’re all set!

With my love of cheese, I was excited to be given the opportunity to sample several artisanal cheddars. Grafton Village Cheese sent me a selection of their cheddars that had been aged from 1 all the way to 4 years.

I was surprised to find out that many cheddar companies, considered “commodity cheddars” only age their product a minimum of 60 days and most often no longer than 12 months. Grafton Village cheddars are aged longer than most cheddar companies can even dream of and have a fantastic richness in flavors and complexities. They’re made with TLC and the highest quality ingredients!

We sampled the cheeses individually and consecutively. They all had VERY distinctive flavors. You could taste the aging and the mellowness as the years went by. We even grated up some and melted it on top of burgers for a very gourmet touch. We were quite fond of all of the cheddars the 4 year aged cheddar was ah-mazing.

Grafton Village Cheese Company is located in Vermont. You can find more information about their fantastic cheeses on their SITE

Disclaimer: I was sent a variety of cheddar cheeses from Grafton Village Cheese Company to sample. The opinions are my own, always have been, always will be ; )
