Werther's Apple Pancakes for Fall
One of my favorite year-round candies is Werther’s. My grandmother used to buy them for me when I was little and she always had them in candy dishes around her house. These days I always keep them around and incorporate them into stuff we like to eat. Did you know the Werther’s can be melted to make a yummy Werther’s sauce? Here is how we like to make the sauce and serve it on our favorite breakfast pancake stack. I like to layer it with sliced apples so that is tastes like caramel-dipped apples. It is a treat, to be sure, but it sure makes for a fun fall breakfast!
Melted Werther’s on Pancakes
1 stack of your favorite homemade pancakes
8 Werther’s soft caramels
1 small apple, sliced thin
Place the pancakes on a plate and arrange the apple slices in the waffle in a fan-like shape. Then, melt the Werther’s over very low heat in a small saucepan. Stir the caramel frequently and do not leave it. Remove it from the heat the second it melts completely. Drizzle it over the pancakes and serve!

I am most definitely making these this weekend!
What a perfect fall breakfast treat! I didn’t realize you could use Werther’s to make a caramel sauce.
This is just ridiculously good. My eyes have gained 10 pounds just looking at it. Wow. Wow. I wish my birthday or father’s day was in October so I could quickly order this up for breakfast in bed. Seriously.
Caramel + apple + pancake = breakfast perfection! I might have to add a slice of bacon just to take it over the top.
