Which Airlines Have the Unhealthiest Foods?

As we head into midwinter, perhaps you’re preparing a warm getaway to a tropical location where you’ll don a bathing suit, rub sunblock into your “hasn’t seen the sun in months” skin and enjoy a few lazy naps looking over a body of water.

If you find yourself on an airline to get to your winter weather getaway, you’ll want to stay fit for that bathing suit wearing you’ll be doing. Don’t cheat on your New Year’s Resolution diet just yet. Here are the stats when it comes to healthy and less-than-healthy airline food options.

  • Virgin 1 of 6
    Virgin
Like a Virgin, this airline offers electronic ordering and healthy options.
For calorie counts and more, head to The Daily Meal.
  • United 2 of 6
    United
The Daily Meal suggests United's merger with Continental has something to do with its decline from the #1 healthiest food options on an airline spot that it owned last year.
For calorie counts and more, head to The Daily Meal.
  • Delta 3 of 6
    Delta
Delta's largest issue appears to be portion size when a snack box could easily count as a meal. Try their yogurt parfait or enjoy a snack box as a meal rather than just a snack.
For calorie counts and more, head to The Daily Meal.
  • American 4 of 6
    American
Boston Market sandwiches and greasy pizza are your options on any American flight. There is one redeemer, but I can't seem to get past the pizza and cookies lunch there.
For calorie counts and more, head to The Daily Meal.
  • Southwest 5 of 6
    Southwest
Peanuts, crackers and some jacked up "Sweet and Salty Mix" are all Southwest has to offer.
For calorie counts and more, head to The Daily Meal.
  • JetBlue 6 of 6
    JetBlue
