Which Bean is Which?

You probably have it way more together than I do, but I have this problem when I decant my beans and grains into countertop canisters. I always forget exactly which grain or bean is which. Some are obvious — split peas and chick peas — but some, like quinoa and millet — stump me on a regular basis. So I was delighted when my friend Victoria taught me this cool trick. When I take them out of whatever plastic bag or container they came in, I clip out the label and shove it right into the jar, too. Now that I think about it, it’s not unlike my daughter’s old pre-school teacher who labeled everything in the classroom to get her students familiar with common words. Of course, they are only four years old. I’m not sure what my excuse is…
