10 Instagram Accounts to Follow For Healthy Eating & Living

gwyneth-made-me-do-it-logoI love the heck out of Instagram. For me, it’s a place for inspiration, information, and beauty. Sometimes it’s really not even about how gorgeous the photo is, but the words behind it, and vice versa. When I became heavily invested in trying to eat clean and lead a more well-balanced, healthy life, I reached out to my own set of followers to find out who else they follow and who inspires them with their healthy living. I ended up finding a broad spectrum of inspiring people on the gram. From farmers to vegans, to chefs and fitness fanatics. Here are 10 of my favorite Instagram accounts I can count on for daily inspiration.

  • 10 Instagram Accounts That Will Inspire 1 of 11
    10-IG-accounts-to-follow

In need of some dinner inspiration, motivation to exercise, or are new to a vegetarian lifestyle? Well, these 10 accounts will both inform and inspire. Click through to discover 10 accounts I'm loving.

  • YonderWayFarmer 2 of 11
    igfavesyonderway

The first account belongs to Farmer Jason and is called YonderWayFarmer, and I may be slightly obsessed with stalking his feed.  He's the owner of Yonder Way Farms, and is the husband to the widely loved Five Chicks And A Farmer, and daddy to 4 little girls.  His feed gives a glimpse into their beautiful Texas farm, where they raise pastured pigs, beef, and truly free-range chickens.  His photos are breathtaking, sweet, and informative, and he will often answer questions and give detailed information about raising animals and farm life.  His captions are inspiring, funny, and always thoughtful.

He does share ample photos of cooked bacon and pork, and while immediately you may not consider that "healthy," it is when you consider his farming practices, and just how healthy and humane they are for our environment and the animals.

  • SproutedKitchen 3 of 11
    igfavessproutedkitchen

The Instagram account of SproutedKitchen documents food, friends, family, travel...but mostly food.  Beautiful food photos, full of color and depth, give me fresh ideas for recipes and combinations of foods I all love, but normally wouldn't pair together.  Sara's blog, also titled Sprouted Kitchen, shares recipes with a tastier take on whole foods, and dishes are organized in alphabetical order and are fairly easy to find.

  • HealingBelle 4 of 11
    igfaveshealingbelle

Belle of Healing_belle is "just a mother healing her brain cancer naturally through juice, yoga & goodness." She is also the creator of the Whole Pantry App, which is a health, wellness, and lifestyle app filled with tips, resources, and recipes to live an enriched life.  I love that she shares food photos, inspirational quotes, and informative slides which tell the benefits of certain foods and supplements.  A wealth of knowledge.

  • Muffintopless 5 of 11
    igfavesmuffintopless

When someone first recommended muffintopless, I wasn't so sure I was going to like the account.  Savannah is the woman behind the account, and is young, pretty, extremely fit, with no children, and she posts lots of selfies.  But, after giving it some time, I've come to appreciate her perspective and most especially her inspirational posts, with quotes and loads of encouragement.  She also shares some recipes and workout routines, via her website.  I've really come to like her selfies and cute boyfriend.

  • MyNewRoots 6 of 11
    igfavesmynewroots

I'm a newer fan of the blog My New Roots, recommended to me by a friend who thought I would love Sarah's photos, and she was right.  Her Instagram account is filled with just as much beauty, and food photos are gorgeously styled and look so good I want to run to my kitchen to make what she's having.  Her site and blog is dedicated to helping the reader make healthy choices everyday, and she indeed does that.

  • NomNomPaleo 7 of 11
    igfavesnomnom

Even if you're not a follower of the Paleo lifestyle and diet, you will love the recipes that nomnompaleo shares on her account.  Full of life and color, her recipes look easy to cook, and inspire the everyday chef to get into the kitchen and whip up something primal.  She even uses potatoes every once in a while.

  • NomYourself 8 of 11
    igfavesnomyourself

Dedicated to making simple vegan food, nomyourself is filled with beautiful vegan recipes that you might be surprised are actually vegan.  Beautifully plated and expertly crafted, this account has me rethinking what it means to be vegan.

  • NutritionStripped 9 of 11
    igfavesnutritionstripped

McKel is a food and wellness coach and whips up some amazing looking food on her account NutritionStripped.  Her photos are crisp, stylish, and inspiring!  She also shares plenty of tips for healthy eating for the whole family.

  • OhSheGlows 10 of 11
    igfavesohsheglows

Angela shares beautiful, healthy vegan recipes she whips up in her own kitchen on her account ohsheglows.  Vegan or not, many of her recipes are friendly and appealing to even the most dedicated omnivores.  She also answers questions about her recipes, which is both helpful and just nice.

  • Recipe4Healing 11 of 11
    igfavesrecipe4healing

Megan is dedicated to using real food as medicine, and shares just how she does that on her account recipe4healing.  She follows the GAPS diet and focuses on lots of Paleo/primal eating.  I have learned several new things from her, like learning about ghee, since she cooks and eats a plethora of interesting foods.  She's also extremely interactive with her followers and answers all questions and encourages community.  I love following her.
