The 13th Zodiac sign Ophiuchus that has the Internet on fire over people who are worried they have a new astrological sign for 2011 is not even real, according to history.
Even though original constellation charts do show Ophiuchus, or the sign of the Serpent, as a Zodiac sign, the ancient Babylonians rejected the 13th sign, declaring that there were only 12 Zodiac signs.
The original Zodiac sign dates of 2000 years ago were as follows:
Aries: March 21 – April 19
Taurus: April 20 – May 20
Gemini: May 21 – June 20
Cancer: June 21 – July 22
Leo: July 23 – August 22
Virgo: August 23 – September 22
Libra: September 23 – October 22
Scorpio: October 23 – November 21
Sagittarius: November 22 – December 21
Capricorn: December 22 – January 19
Aquarius: January 20 – February 18
Pisces: February 19 – March 20
Basically, unless you are a follower of something known as sidereel astrology, your Zodiac sign does not change because the 13th Zodiac sign Ophiuchus is not acknowledged. It can even be considered fake.
The horoscope change craze has had many pregnant women upset, as they were planning on choosing the names of their babies based on astrology. Judging from the celeb baby boom in Hollywood, I’m sure that many famous mamas-to-be will be relieved that the Ophiuchus horoscope is something that they can take or leave!
