5 Best Disney Video Games to Buy for the Family

One thing that will be under our tree this year? Video Games. It’s a way our family plays and comes together, especially as the weather outside gets colder and chillier. Our gang is also way into Disney, so incorporating our favorite characters, movies and Disney places into our game play just makes it all the better.

And one of the great things is that the games are easy to find (these titles are all best-sellers) and are all beloved (at least by us!) So if you’re you looking for inspiration for some last minute gifts of stocking stuffers – here are five of our favorite Disney Interactive games from getting your dance on to virtually going on a trip to Disneyland. Check them out here:

  • Toy Story Mania 1 of 5
    Toy Story Mania
One of our favorite rides at Disneyland, without a doubt, is Toy Story Mania (it's so fun!). But one of the downfalls about the ride is that not only Disneyland about 400 miles away from our home and once we get there we have to wait in a giant line (Toy Story Mania is ridiculously popular). This is why the new Toy Story Mania is awesome, the game brings the Toy Story Mania experience to your home (without the long lines!)

  • Just Dance Disney 2 of 5
    Just Dance Disney
Disney Dance Party I love, love, love a dance party and my daughter loves, loves, loves Disney, the two of us both love our Kinect so mix all that together and you have the Disney Dance Party Totally family friendly fun dancing along with such Disney old school classics as The Aristocats, Cinderella and Peter Pan and new-school hits like Good Luck Charlie, Shake It Up and Phineas and Ferb.

  • Disneyland 3 of 5
As I mentioned before, we live 400 miles away from Disneyland and it really is our most favorite places in the whole wide world. A wonderful way to bring the park experience home, in a very virtual way, is with the Dineyland Kinect game where you can explore the park, go on "rides," and meet a slew of characters.

  • Rush! 4 of 5
One of the things about Pixar's characters is that they are always on the move. The gang from Toy Story always seem on the go, Reme from Ratatouille gets busy in the kitchen when he isn't running from being caught, and the Incredibles, they're a family of super heroes. So of course they're active. This game marries the Pixar characters with a very active gameplay.

  • Epic Mickey 2: The Power of 2 5 of 5
Epic Mickey 2: The Power of 2
We have a big problem with Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two. The issue is we play it too much. The game is so fun, so eclectic, so interesting, challenging and immersive that it is ridiculously easy for Disneyphiles like us to get hooked. It doesn't help that my 6-year-old is totally obsessed with Oswald the Lucky Rabbit. While there are some epic battles, many puzzles to unravel, the thing we love most about the game is how it honors Disney land characters of yore from Clara Belle the cow to early Disney works like the Old Mill and the Skeleton Dance as well as classic Disneyland rides like Autopia and Adventureland. It is a seriously awesome game.
