5 Reasons Why Sandra Bullock Kept Her Adoption Secret

Sandra Bullock blindsided us all with her surprise announcement that she had adopted a baby boy. Her filing for divorce from husband Jesse James? Not a surprise. That she was the mom to a 3 ½ month old baby? Now, that was unexpected!  So why did she keep such big news secret? Find out after the jump!

1) She wanted to wait.
Originally, when she was still with Jesse and planned to raise Louis together, they decided to announce the news after the “the media craziness of the awards season” that is the Oscars.

2) But then he cheated.
Due to revelations of Jesse’s infidelity, the secret stayed hidden for longer than originally planned. Any post Academy Awards glow of “Hey, here’s my Oscar and here’s my baby” dimmed.

3) Crazy timing.
Now that was some crazy timing. She had been going through the adoption process for four years. But fate decided to deliver her baby during the craziest time of her life. Yeah, fate’s funny that way.

4) Paparazzi.
She was hunted down for post break-up pics like she was Big Foot or the Loch Ness Monster. She obviously wanted to shield her new addition from being the paparazzi’s prey. (Check out the photo of what happens when Sandra leaves the house below!)

5) So how did she kept it secret?
She told People that, “Just the doctors’ visits were filled with decoys and dark cars,” she said. “People that I had worked with for years couldn’t understand why I wouldn’t let them into my house for (Oscar ceremony gown) fittings.”

Do you think she should have kept the secret hidden for even longer?
