This Sunday, Hollywood’s hottest moms and dads (minus Brad and Angelina) will be all dolled up to attend the 67th Annual Golden Globe Awards. While all their kids spend the evening with friends, relatives and/or nannies, oodles of the best actors and actresses of TV and film will be enjoying a night out …and maybe they’ll even get to bring home a little golden globe for show and tell!
Here are seven things you (probably) didn’t know about this year’s Golden Globes!
4 out of 5 of the nominees for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series are moms! Toni Collette, Courtney Cox, Edie Falco and Tina Fey. The one fancy-free lady in the bunch? Glee’s Lea Michele.
Best Supporting Dads
The boys, they’ve really been busy. All five of the Best Supporting Actor Nominees are daddies. The list includes: Matt Damon, Woody Harrelson, Christopher Plummer, Stanley Tuccie and Christopher Waltz.
Meryl Steep Is Golden
Mom Meryl Streep holds the record for most Golden Globe nominations with the staggering amount of 25! And she’s won six of those. This year she is nominated for two, for Julie & Julia and It’s Complicated. When she won her Golden Globe for The Devil Wears Prada she brought her daughter as her date. Is she her lucky charm? Will she go with her this year? (Source)
Bump Watch Alert!
There will be at least on bump watch during the show. The pregnant Amy Adams will be presenting! Will she be sporting one of her custom Carolina Herrera gowns?
What other parents will be presenting? Some other tinsel towns moms and dads handing out the globes are Kate Hudson, Christina Aguilera Halle Berry, Colin Farrell, Nicole Kidman, Amy Poehler, Julia Roberts, Kate Winslet, Reese Witherspoon, Jennifer Garner and Jodie Foster.
Sorry – Angelina & Brad Can’t Make It
Sorry but you won’t be able to stare and/or drool over Brad and Angelina or both at this year’s ceremonies. They apparently won’t be attending. Speculation on why they aren’t going run the gamut from the fact that Brad wasn’t nominated for his work on Inglourious Basterds to Angelina not wanting to run into Brad’s ex on the red carpet. Regardless of the reason, they will be missed. (Source)
What’s for dinner?
What will all these stars be eating while the kids (and maybe us too) are at home feasting on leftovers or mac & cheese? The stars will be sipping on Moet & Chandon champagne and feasting on “herb-crusted mozzarella and grilled eggplant salad, braised beef short ribs with artichoke sweet pepper ragout and sauteed sea bass with truffle endive fritto”. The meal ends with a chocolate desert which includes a mini chocolate envelope with a “The Golden Globe Goes To” chocolate card.
