8 Big Projects Coming From Walt Disney Studios: From Muppets to MarvelSunny Chanel
Wow, Walt Disney Studios is going to be busy during the next couple of years! The studio released new details and release dates for their slate starting this winter to the end of 2014 and beyond. And it’s an eclectic mix, from Muppets to Marvel, from Tomorrowland to Into the Woods, from fun family flicks to more serious fare.

Saving Mr. Banks 1 of 8
Opens: December 13, 2013 (limited release) - December 20, 2013 (wide release)
The Story: "Inspired by true events, Saving Mr. Banks is the extraordinary, untold story of how Disney's classic Mary Poppins made it to the screen—and the testy relationship that the legendary Walt Disney had with author P.L. Travers that almost derailed it."
Bonus Points: Tom Hanks as Walt Disney and Emma Thompson as P.L. Travers. Amazing casting.

Muppets Most Wanted 2 of 8
Opens: March 21, 2014
Story: "Starring Ricky Gervais, Ty Burrell, and Tina Fey, Disney's Muppets Most Wanted takes the entire Muppets gang on a global tour where they find themselves unwittingly entangled in an international crime caper."
Bonus Points: James Bobin, Nicholas Stoller, and songwriter Bret McKenzie return to the production (they, along with Jason Segal, created The Muppets Movie).
Planes: Fire and Rescue 3 of 8
Opens: July 18, 2014
Story: This is the follow up to Disney's Planes which opens on August 9th, no other details have been released yet.
Bonus Points: Getting the second one started before the first one even comes out.
Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day 4 of 8
Opens: October 10, 2014
Story: Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day, based on the award-winning children's book by Judith Viorst, follows young Alexander through the mishaps of a terrible day for his family after he wishes they all would experience the same troubles he does.
Bonus Points: The movie will star Steve Carell and Jennifer Garner.
Tomorrowland 5 of 8
Opens: December 12, 2014
Story: No details for this Brad Bird film (he is writing and directing the project) have been released yet, but Brad Bird did tweet out the above images which most see as a clue to the narrative.
Bonus Points: The film will star George Clooney and Hugh Laurie.
Into the Woods 6 of 8
Opens: December 25, 2014
Story: "Into the Woods, based on the Tony-winning original musical by James Lapine and Stephen Sondheim, surrounds a baker and his wife's quest to break a witch's curse in order to start a family. Along the way, they encounter several well-known fairy tale characters, and together they learn what happens after 'happily ever after'."
Bonus Points: Everyone loves a musical!
The Hundred-Foot Journey 7 of 8
Opens: August 8, 2014 (Dreamworks production)
Story: "The Hundred-Foot Journey, based on the international best-selling book by Richard C. Morais, tells the story of an Indian boy living in France who becomes the culinary apprentice to his father's rival."
Bonus Points: Steven Spielberg, Oprah Winfrey and Juliet Blake are producing.
Marvel 8 of 8
There will also be two yet untitled Marvel films coming out one on 05/6/16 and and one on 5/5/17. The sequel to The Avengers will open 05/01/15.
