In the best (or worst) of circumstances, even the most poised celebrities can have a moment of weakness when it comes to dealing with the paparazzi.
Britney Spears, Sean Penn, and even former First Lady Jackie Onassis have had some of the most infamous “run-ins” with the shutterbugs.
A little over four years ago, Spears had a pure moment of insanity when she went ballistic on the paparazzi with an umbrella and a cleanly shaven head! And Penn even dangled a photographer from his balcony window claiming to have thought it was a burglar. Yeah right!
Take a look below at some celebrity parents and their infamous paparazzi freakouts!
Sean Penn 1 of 8In 1986, Penn's most infamous freak-out was the time he dangled a photographer by his ankles off the ninth-floor balcony of a hotel room in Macau. The actor claimed to have thought the guy was a burglar. Penn was charged with attempted murder, but was later pardoned. Check out another of Sean's photographer attacks below.

Reese Witherspoon 4 of 8In a bizarre example of paparazzi-celebrity entanglement, Witherspoon was questioned by L.A. police following the death of a photographer charged with battery after an incident involving Witherspoon and her then five-year-old daughter at a Disney theme park. After he missed his bail hearing, authorities feared paparazzo Todd Wallace had fled the country; his decomposed body was later found in his Brentwood apartment. In 2007, she also told off a photographer during a day out with her kids (pictured here).

Britney Spears 5 of 8To this day, few stars can cause a paparazzi frenzy the way Britney Spears can. Not only did Spears attack a photographer's vehicle with an umbrella, but another photographer staking out Spears took a bullet in the leg. The bullet (from a BB gun) didn't do any serious damage, and investigators later concluded that Spears and her bodyguards weren't responsible.

Jackie Onassis 6 of 8In a legal battle, the former First Lady sued photographer Ron Gallela for harassment after he followed her and her children into Central Park. The trial won her a restraining order against him, but when a court reduced the minimal distance to 25 feet, it allowed Galella permission to get back to work and take his self-described "greatest shot," this photo of Jackie's hair blowing in the wind as she turns toward the camera.

David Arquette 8 of 8Arquette once yelled at photographers as he left Los Angeles' Nobu restaurant with his estranged wife, Courteney Cox, claiming they were stopping him from driving away. Arquette then jumped out of his car, confronted one photographer and pushed his camera away before another paparazzi calmed him down.
