8 Reasons Why Jonah Hill Is Hollywoods New Golden Boy

Jonah Hill is fast becoming Hollywood’s “It” boy, even though he’s been making movies for over a decade now. The L.A. born actor has not only been rubbing elbows with A-list stars such as Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio, but he’s also finally receiving the recognition he deserves with his second Oscar® nomination for his killer role in, The Wolf of Wall Street.

That’s pretty impressive for someone who started out knocking bong and bodily fluid jokes in movies such as Knocked Up and Forgetting Sarah Marshall, right?

Take a look at our photo gallery, and our eight reasons why you need to keep Jonah Hill on your must-watch list. While I wasn’t a huge fan of The Wolf of Wall Street, I will say that Jonah’s performance was the crème de la crème. I’d love to see him get up on that podium in March for the ultimate acting award that he definitely deserves. And even if this isn’t his year, at 30-years-old, I’m sure there’s still so much more of him to come!

Jonah has been nominated for 2 Academy Awards ®. He was previously nominated in 2012 for his role in Moneyball, and this time around, it's for Best Supporting Actor in The Wolf of Wall Street. Not bad for someone who is only 30, right?

He has the type of face that just makes you want him to be your best friend. He seems like the kind of friend that would just want to chill with you on a Friday night, throw back a few beers, and mock everyone you'd see on television. You know, the same things you and your friends did while you were back in college!

Even though he's had a reputation in the past for being — ahem — a jerk, times have changed for Jonah. He's now seeing a therapist to deal with his celebrity status, and is trying his best to be more humble in both his career and his personal life. Talk about a changed man, right?

These days, Jonah gets to hang out with celebrity A-list stars such as Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie and Leonardo DiCaprio. Talk about moving up in the Hollywood ladder, right? And the best part is, that they all have nothing but words of praise for Jonah, too. He even crashed at Brangelina's house for four months while making Moneyball back in 2011.

  • He’s Getting Healthy 6 of 8

In 2012, Jonah went on a low-carb diet that helped him lose 40 pounds. Since then, he's had to gain some of the weight back for his role in "21 Jump Street," but either way, Jonah is looking handsome. Plus, he looks so dapper in a suit, doesn't he?

Jonah is part of the new Hollywood  "It" crowd along with his good pals Seth Rogen, Jason Schwartzman, and James Franco. Can we all say Matt Damon, Ben Affleck and Matthew McConaughey — WHO?

  • He Took a Pay Cut 8 of 8

Apparently Hollywood takes pay cuts, too. Jonah worked for a "measly" $60,000 salary for 7 months of work on The Wolf of Wall Street, which is of course like working for minimum wage according to Hollywood standards. But it looks like Jonah didn't mind the pay cut at all. He was so determined and excited to work for Martin Scorcese, that he didn't mind working for less, while his co-star Leonardo DiCaprio made a cool seven-figures on the film. Either way, I'm sure that's never going to happen again.
