9 Real Housewives Divorces: Is There a Marriage Curse Breaking Up These Families? What About the Kids?

Just one of the Real Housewives Divorces...

There is a myriad of reasons why marriages end. There is infidelity, irreconcilable differences, and the very modern marriage- ender – reality TV.  While most try as hard as they can to keep their family unit together, especially when there are kids involved, there is a temptation that seduces these well-heeled families. The culprit? The cameras of the The Real Housewives from Orange County to New York City.

While there are some perks, like instant fame, red carpet events and the inevitable book deal, there is the much more real, much more heart-wrenching and tragic end the breakup of a family. It seriously seems like there is a Real Housewives curse, although there were surely issues way before filming began, the show just seems to have pushed the issues to the forefront.

Since the show aired there have been 9 high profile breakups -a sad statistic. But the saddest factor, the effect on the children. Not only are their lives being televised to millions (and you know they are being teased at school for their family’s involvement) but it seems that this Real Housewives marriage curse hit their moms and dads, and hit them hard.  Let’s hope that there aren’t any more any time soon.

Check out the nine Real Housewives families who were broken up by divorce:
