A 1st Grader Rates the Oscar Dresses! (Photos)

Oscars2

My 7-year-old daughter is extremely opinionated when it comes to many things; music (Katy Perry rules!), food (strawberries are the best thing ever!), movies (Brave was awesome!), and fashion.

Fashion is one thing she really cares about from meticulously selecting her own ensembles to giving her two-cents about what I should wear (if she had her druthers I’d be wearing a party dress and heels every day). On Oscar Sunday we sat down on the couch, sipped on Shirley Temples, and I asked my little first grader to tell me what she thought of all the red carpet fashions. See what she thought was the best and worst of the Academy Awards gowns right here:

I like it but the dress is just so big! And the fabric looks like a bed.

I love everything about her. I love her dress! I want it! And her doggie purse is soooooooooooooo cute! I want one of those too! I hope she wins something because she's almost my age.
  • Halle Berry 3 of 19
    Halle Berry
I don't really like it. She looks like she is made of a metal, like she's a robot or a machine. It's too hard looking.
  • Kerry Washington 4 of 19
    Kerry Washington
She looks so pretty! Like a cherry, like a really sweet wild cherry. Yum!
  • Amy Adams 5 of 19
    Amy Adams
She looks like a swan!!! Like a swan princess.
  • Salma Hayek 6 of 19
    Salma Hayek
She looks like some sort of insect, like a creepy spider or beetle.
  • Reese Witherspoon 7 of 19
    Reese Witherspoon
She looks really pretty. The color is cool. It reminds be of like a crayon, a really blue crayon.
  • Anne Hathaway 8 of 19
    Anne Hathaway
I don't like it that much. It fits funny and she looks all pointy. But the color is pretty and she does look like a princess and you know she was in The Princess Diaries ! But the back...that's not very princess like.
  • Octavia Spencer 9 of 19
    Octavia Spencer
The top is really pretty. She looks like an angel. She should be sitting on a cloud.
  • Nicole Kidman 10 of 19

It's okay. It makes her look like a mean. Like she would be an evil queen in a Disney movie.
  • Kristen Stewart 11 of 19
    Kristen Stewart
Why didn't she brush her hair?
  • Sandra Bullock 12 of 19
    Sandra Bullock
I don't really like this. She doesn't look comfortable and plus you can see through it!
  • Adele 13 of 19
    Adele
I like it, but it looks too much like a dress that I have. And doesn't she always wear dresses like that? I wish she would have worn something else, like a red dress, a pretty long red dress.
  • Jessica Chastain 14 of 19
    Jessica Chastain
I don't like this one. Her skin and hair is the same color of the dress so it looks like she's walking around naked.
  • Jane Fonda 15 of 19
    Jane Fonda
I don't like this at all. The color makes my eyeballs hurt. She looks like a lemon pie.
  • Helen Bonham Carter 16 of 19
    Helen Bonham Carter
She looks really sloppy. Like it's an old dress that she found at the bottom of a pile of old clothes.
  • Jennifer Aniston 17 of 19
    Jennifer Aniston
It's bright and also boring. She looks like a strawberry. If only her hair was dyed green.
  • Charlize Theron 18 of 19
    Charlize Theron
Her dress looks like a folded up piece of paper!
  • Catherine Zeta Jones 19 of 19
    Catherine Zeta Jones
I love this dress! It looks like it has seashells all over it. Like she's the queen of the sea!
