ACM Awards: Too Hollywood, Not Enough Country Music?

ACM Awards Way Too "Hollywood?"

Did you watch the ACM Awards last night? They were a huge hit, and people can’t seem to stop talking about them this morning. From Taylor Swift winning Entertainer of the Year to Blake Shelton insinuating that Jake Gyllenhaal is gay, it certainly was an eventful night.

The Academy of Country Music Awards are supposed to be about country music, but is the show getting a little too “Hollywood?” Blake Shelton and Reba McEntire tried to bring the comedy as hosts of the ACM Awards, but I’m not sure that their delivery method fit with the genre of music. Typically, the Country Music Awards are much tamer and don’t resort to making fun of people to get a few laughs.

Quite a few of the musical performances last night also featured artists who are anything but country, including Steven Tyler and Rihanna. Do you think they really “fit” with the show?

Has country music gone too “Hollywood?”
