Age is Just a Number: 10 Stars Who Had (or Are Having) Babies In Their 40s

A growing number of women are choosing to procreate not in the prime ages of their 20s or 30s but in their 40s. And this trend is becoming more and more common in Hollywood, where celebrities are busy with their careers and looking trim, svelte and very much not pregnant.  Here are 10 stars who opted to wait and have kids, or at least some of them, in their 40s.

Kelly Preston (above)
Actress and wife of John Travolta are expecting their third child, after the loss of their son Jet. Kelly is 47.

Marcia Cross
The Desperate Housewife had twin daughters Eden and Savannah when she was 44.

Celine Dion
After much trying, Celine and hubby Rene are expecting another child, and this time they are having twins.

Halle Berry
When her daughter Nahla Aubry was born Halle was a very young looking 41.

Salma Hayek
Salma and then boyfriend Francois-Henri Pinault (they have since got married) had daughter Valentina when she was 41.

Madonna had her second child Rocco when she was in her forties. Plus she added adopted children David Banda and daughter Chifundo ‘Mercy’ James to the mix.

Brooke Shields
Brooke had her second daughter Grier at the age of 41.

Nicole Kidman
Nicole’s daughter Sunday Rose was born when Nicole was 41.

Susan Sarandon
Susan had her son Jack when she was 43 and her son Miles was born when she was 46.

Julianne Moore
Julianne  welcomed her daughter Liv Helen when she was 41.
