Bethenny Frankel has been losing for losing. The new mom gained 35 pounds while pregnant and appeared in a bathing suit for a glossy tabloid looking slimmer than ever just three weeks after giving birth to baby Bryn.
With that tiny red size 4 Baywatch number, the claws came out as women began to attack her for shedding the post-baby bulge too quickly (read: in an unhealthy way) and creating unrealistic expectations for normal, non-reality TV, women.
Bethenny has been defending herself, going over and over and over just how she became naturally thin without obsessing by explaining that she did light walking and yoga while watching her portions when she was pregnant and after. But people aren’t letting it drop.
Enter Alex McCord, Bethenny’s fellow housewife who has just learned to use her voice and it intent on making sure people know it. To the Bethenny weight loss haters she tells Us Magazine: “People who are bugging her about it are reprehensible.” It is “absolutely ridiculous to bother her about this. She is a brand-new mommy.”
How does she know? “I have been through this. I have two children; I gained about 45 lbs. with my first and it was all gone within less than a month. I mean, two weeks after Francois was born I was in free pregnancy chains. There are some people who win the genetic lottery, and it melts off.”
Do you think it was good genes that led to Bethenny’s weight loss? Do you think she followed a healthy, sensible plan pre and post-pregnancy?
