All My Children Facing Cancellation? Fun Facts About The Show

It looks like the 41-year-old soap opera All My Children might have run its course and may be facing cancellation.

According to Nielsen ratings, All My Children came in last in total viewers with 2.32 million over the past two weeks…its worst ratings ever.

Although saying goodbye right now may be a little premature, I thought that some fun facts about All My Children might cheer fans up.

AMC has been aired on ABC almost every Monday through Friday since January 5, 1970

Since the show originally aired, Susan Lucci has played the part of Erica Kane

Originally a half-hour in length, the show expanded to an hour on April 25, 1977

In December 2009, the show relocated from New York to be filmed in Los Angeles, where it is still being shot

At one time, the program’s popularity positioned it as the most widely-recorded television show in the United States

The show is also broadcast in Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Canada, Italy, and Solomon Islands

Some big named actors and actresses have also gotten their starts on AMC. Take for instance CSI Miami’s Eva LaRue, Kelly Ripa and her husband Mark Consuelos, and Josh Duhamel all got their first break on the show!
