Ryan Seacrest promised his radio listeners earlier today that they would see an apology on tonight’s American Idol.
Seacrest kept his promise, because before even the opening sequence rolled, there was the apology for Steven Tyler’s behavior. It was written in white letters on a black background.
Card 1: “American Idol would like to apologize for last week’s outrageous behavior by Steven Tyler.”
Card 2: “Mr. Tyler has been warned and assures us it will never happen again.”
Yes people, that was the extent of the apology. You can see it for yourself below.
Was it a joke? A publicity stunt to boost sinking ratings? What behavior were they apologizing for? Was it because Tyler asked a contestant last week “You know what Muck rhymes with, don’t you”? What happened last week that those of us that don’t watch regularly missed?
What am I missing? Do you know what American Idol producers were apologizing for? If so, please share!
