Amy Poehler chats with Parade magazine, kicking things off by saying, “I’m just another supermom!”
She’s quick to set that ideal straight, however, saying, “Who am I kidding? I’m lucky to get everybody out the door without Cheerios stuck to their pajamas!”
Spoken like a true mom!
Amy Poehler is mom to sons Archie, 2½, and Abel, 9 months, whose famous dad is funnyman Will Arnett. Can you imagine how fun their household is?
Poehler dishes on her strategy for distracting her kids and points to technology: “I’ll bring my BlackBerry, and everybody wants it. But bring one that’s a few seasons old for them to play with and they look at you like, “Nice try.” Even kids under 2 seem to have a sense for technology and what the latest product is.”
Poehler also shares her inability to stay up late since having kids, sharing, “Before kids, there wasn’t a night for 10 years that Will and I went to sleep before 2 a.m. I’d sleep until noon or one, and I thought 10:30 a.m. was early. Now I’m sound asleep by 11:30 every night, and the kids wake us up around seven—on a good day.”
Who can relate? Now that my kids are a bit older, they don’t wake me up as early as they used to, which is amazing. But late nights are a total thing of the past since having kids!
