Angelina, J-Lo, Gwyneth and More: Best Dressed Celebrity Moms at the Oscars 2012

One of my favorites of the night.

There were no wacky Bjork swan dresses this year.

In fact, the biggest fashion risk any women took this year may have been Jennifer Lopez’ low plunging dress, that some say ended in a wardrobe malfunction.

Whatever.  She looked hot as hell.  In fact, everyone looked hot.  While there were a few interesting choices (like Gwyneth Paltrow’s red carpet cape) they weren’t exactly what I’d call a fashion miss.  Just… interesting. And, I mean, she’s Gwyneth Paltrow.  Love her or hate her, you’ve got to admit she is smoking hot and could rock a barrel with suspenders.

All the celeb mamas looked amazing.  From Michelle Williams to Tina Fey, they had it going on.  Basically, if you have pushed a human being from your loins and can still look amazing in couture, you rock.

Having birthed two children of my own, I know how difficult it can be to get back into shape.

So I doff my cap to these seven lovely ladies who rocked the red carpet at the Academy Awards.

Go on with yo bad self baby mamas!

Check them out in the photos below.  Which dresses are your most and least favorite?nggallery id=’117479′

  • Meryl Streep 1 of 13
    Meryl Streep
Meryl came dresed as Oscar's wife. Love the color, love her hair, although the dress is a little on the sloppy side I still say she looks stunning.
  • Michelle Williams 2 of 13
    Michelle Williams
Williams was the clear winner for me in a coral, strapless Louis Vuitton. The dress looked red on TV but it appears to be more of a coral color, as Williams herself told Seacrest.
  • Gwyneth Paltrow 3 of 13
    Gwyneth Paltrow
I was a bit skeptical about this look initially but, in retrospect, I like it. The cape added a touch of sophistication to her sleek dress and she got rid of it once she was inside. She was one of a number of celebs to opt for the one-shoulder dress.
  • Melissa McCarthy 4 of 13
    Melissa McCarthy
I thought mom of 2, Melissa McCarthy looked beautiful as well although she seems to be drowning in fabric. I'd have liked to see her in something more form fitting. Rock the curves, girlfriend. Overall though, very Grecian and fresh. Also liked her hair.
  • Jennifer Lopez 5 of 13
    Jennifer Lopez
From the infamous green dress at the Grammys Lopez has made it clear she dares to bare it all. And hey, she has a nice - uh - sternum, so go for it. Not sure I liked the slicked updo, but, overall, she looked gorgeous.
  • Kelly Ripa 6 of 13
    Kelly Ripa
Kelly couldn't go wrong with this number. It fits her like a glove and I love the belt. Simple but beautiful
  • Sandra Bullock 7 of 13
    Sandra Bullock
If I had to pick my least favorite celeb mom dress of the night, it would be Bullock's Marchesa. It just doesn't appear to fit right, especially around her hips. It looks better in the back.
  • Angelina Jolie 8 of 13
    Angelina Jolie
Yes, of course. Angelina Jolie looked beautiful in her black Atelier Versace with a slit all the way to THERE, but the posing was just beyond. I mean, it looks like she might sprain a hip there.
  • Leslie Mann 9 of 13
    Leslie Mann
Mann, mother of 2 with husband Judd Apatow, wore a Roberto Cavalli in midnight blue. Love the color and fit and the simply ponytail is perfect.
  • Tina Fey 10 of 13
    Tina Fey
I thought Tina Fey killed it in this edgy, glamorous black number. Dramatic, beautiful and she went easy on the jewelry, which I like.
  • Natalie Portman 11 of 13
    Natalie Portman
Portman wore a red vintage polka-dot vintage Christian Dior dress which I loved. She always looks simple and beautiful.
  • Penelope Cruz 12 of 13
    Penelope Cruz
Another favorite of mine, Cruz was decked out in a gray dress from Armani Privé. She looked super glam and very old Hollywood. Love this look!
  • Maya Rudolph 13 of 13
    Maya Rudolph
This isn't my favorite look for Maya but I like the color on her and loved the Veronica Lake hair.
