They say the Christmas season starts earlier and earlier every year, and now we have additional proof.
Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt and their family briefly stayed in the English town of Kent while Brad was filming World War Z. While there, Angelina took their six children to the town of Littlebourne, where they went to the post office and wrote their letters to Santa Claus.
It has to be hard to keep six children from running amok, especially around the holidays, but Fiona Lindsay, a post office clerk, praised the Jolie-Pitt clan’s manners.
“It was so cute. All the children sent letters to Father Christmas and were absolutely beautifully behaved,” she says.
Their A-list mom then indulged them in a few treats.
According to Lindsay, Pax, Maddox, Zahara, Shiloh, Knox and Vivienne each got a bit of candy, some small toys and magazines. She also suggested they get a taste of a genuine British meal at the fish and chips shop across the road.
Lindsay adds that the star was “so polite and a really nice person. I was quite shocked at first, but Angelina was so lovely I soon relaxed.”
It must have been a fun time for the family – but it does bring up two questions.
First: What do kids gain by doing Christmas-y things before the holidays officially begin? Okay, Europe doesn’t observe Thanksgiving, but it’s still more than a month before the Big Day. Is Angelina setting up her children to be the kind who put up their inflatable reindeer the day after Halloween?
Second: What on earth do you ask Santa for when you’re the children of two of the richest and most famous people in the world? It’s hard to imagine that their palatial French estate isn’t already filled with every toy and electronic gadget a young heart could desire.
Wouldn’t it be cute if they wanted something less than extravagant? St. Nick, pop six pairs of Stompies into your sack pronto!
