After making an appearance at the Super Bowl on Sunday with Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie jetted off to the Dominican Republic to visit hospitalized Haitian earthquake victims.
Dario Manon, a spokesman for the Dario Contrera Hospital in the capital of Santo Domingo, says Jolie toured the hospital on Monday and spoke with several patients. “She spoke with several children and a Haitian woman who recognized her and requested help,” Manon told reporters.
The actress was not accompanied by Pitt, but was traveling with Gonzalo Vargas Llosa, a representative of the U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees and the son of Peruvian writer Mario Vargas Llosa.
Jolie is a goodwill ambassador for the U.N. refugee agency.
