Another Celeb Split: The Spice Girls' Mel C Breaks Up With Her Boyfriend

Mel C is single again.

Just call her Single Spice.

While the rest of the world was caught up in the whole TomKat divorce whirlwind, Melanie “Mel C” Chisholm was quietly parting ways with her longtime boyfriend, property developer Thomas Starr. The split was reported in the Daily Mail today.

The two were together 10 years and have a 3-year-old daughter, Scarlet.

But like Katie Holmes before her, the Spice Girl recently gave an interview that suggested something was going on behind the scenes. “This year a new door has opened for me, and I’m curious to know what’s going to happen next,” she told Good Housekeeping. She also joked that being in a relationship has its disadvantages. “I’d like my house to be run with military precision, but unfortunately someone else lives there – a man!”

Again like Katie, Mel is keeping busy with new projects, so motherhood and work will likely be her priorities for some time to come.

Katie is working on a film about a single mom, while the former Sporty Spice is joining her old bandmates to promote a new musical, Viva Forever, that opens on London’s West End late this fall. The show features the Spice Girls’ greatest hits.

She’s also recording a new album, Stages, with Emma Bunton.

We’re always sad to see a breakup in the news, but we’re hoping Mel has found what she really, really wants.
