"Bachelor" Sean Lowe Can't Wait to Be a Dad!

You have to admire the optimism of the contenders on reality dating shows who get turned down by the object of their affections, then come back a season or two later in hopes of finding love again.

Tomorrow night, it’ll be Sean Lowe hoping the second time’s the charm when he debuts as the star of The Bachelor on ABC. He made it to the final three in the last season of The Bachelorette, but went home still single when Emily Maynard decided he wasn’t the one.

Back in July, he told People that he was on the fence about being the next Bachelor. “I could get heartbroken again,” he said. “But I’m an open-minded optimist, and I believe the process can work….If I found my wife, it would be worth it.”

So he’s giving reality romance another chance. But the 25 ladies selected for him won’t be getting roses if they’re not serious about marriage – and motherhood.

In a video preview of the show (available at Us Weekly‘s website), Sean makes his goals clear. “I want to start a family and just have a house that’s full of love and laughter,” he says.

The video shows him playing with his sister’s children, whom he adores. “I can only imagine how that’s going to intensify once I have my own kids,” Sean says.

Sean’s love of kids was evident on The Bachelorette, as he got close to Emily and started to envision life as her daughter Ricki’s stepfather. He says he wouldn’t have stayed in the game if he’d had any doubts about entering a ready-made family.

These series haven’t had the best track record when it comes to contestants finding true love – Emily and Jef Holm’s engagement was the latest casualty. However, Sean isn’t letting the odds deter him.

“With 25 women, I’m hoping I can find [love] with one of them,” he says.

What’s your take? Do you think the future mother of Sean’s children is waiting for him on the show?
