Ben Affleck and his wife Jennifer Garner are expecting baby no. 3 any day now, and because of that, Ben would like to make sure he sets a good example for his children.
Affleck founded the Eastern Congo Initiative in 2010 and recently got back from his eighth day trip to the war-torn region. The actor says it’s his children, Violet, 6, Seraphina, 3, and his baby-to-be, who inspire him to do make a difference in the world.
“I got to a point in my life where I felt like I had been very fortunate,” Affleck tells PEOPLE. “And I wanted to do something more with my life than just make movies and try to make money. I wanted to do something that was important to me in other ways and would serve as an example to my kids.”
Ben’s nonprofit helps support Congolese-led organizations helping to rebuild the region, from groups aiding former child soldiers to those supplying health care to those in need.
Sounds pretty noble, no? It’s always great to see celebrities using their star power for good. And Ben has certainly proven himself to be a good leader for his children.
