Bethenny Frankel has been gushing–since day one–about how amazing it is to have a baby, and all the extremely positive effects it has had on her as a person. But, it’s not always easy. The reality tv star of The Real Housewives of New York City and Bethenny Getting Married? recently dished about the most difficult things about being a parent.
What was at the top of her list? “The distribution of love in my household,” she told People. Frankel said she has to work pretty hard to dole out love equally to everyone in her family–that includes her husband Jason Hoppy, newborn daughter Bryn, and of course, her dog Cookie.
To help out, Frankel says Hoppy is a very involved dad, feeding, bathing, and changing Bryn on a regular basis. But when it comes to the sweet moments with the little girl, Frankel wants them all to herself. “We fight over [Bryn] sometimes,” Frankel said. “I’ll be like, ‘Stop, I’m the woman, I’m the mommy, I want to hold her.'”
Though she does acknowledge that may change as Bryn gets older. “I’m sure later on, when she hates both of us because we won’t let her out of the house to go to some party, we’ll be fighting over who has to deal with her,” the chef and cookbook author wisely said. We’re sure many parents can attest to that–and it got us wondering what kind of mom Frankel will be when Bryn reaches those dreaded teenage years.
Is she going to be the “cool” mom who is best friends with her daughter and her daughter’s best friends? Or will she be super strict? How do you see this playing out?
