The Skinnygirl is a Busygirl!
Bethenny Frankel, already known for her bestselling books, diet philosophies, reality shows and new TV show, just announced her latest role: host on the OpenSky shopping site.
On her OpenSky page, Bethenny will be sharing videos and tips on living a healthier lifestyle, as well as selling her popular Skinnygirl weight-loss products, exercise equipment and slimming lingerie.
The Bethenny star talked to OpenSky about her new role there, and shared some of her best suggestions for time-pressed mothers like herself. Read on!About her partnership with the site, she says, “I love giving women practical solutions that can make their lives a bit easier. It’s like having boozy brunch with my girlfriends and talking out our problems. But OpenSky is a way to bridge that gap between recommending something great and giving my fans a way to actually buy it.”
She promises her diet-sensible recipes won’t include blah foods like “cardboard chicken.” Bethenny says, “I want you to actually like healthy living.”
For moms who want to start moving toward their own Skinnygirl lifestyle, the popular host recommends tossing those processed, pre-packaged foods out of the kitchen. “If it’s not there, you can’t eat it,” she explains. “Fill your fridge with real food instead.” And if you crave snacks like chips, find brands with natural ingredients.
Bethenny makes it a point to cook at least one homemade meal for her daughter, Bryn, every day. You can, too – by setting realistic goals. “Don’t say you’re going to make beef Wellington and baked Alaska for a weekday dinner with the hubby – make turkey burgers and 30-minute brownies instead,” she says.
What’s the one thing women with busy schedules can do to keep healthy? Drink plenty of water! “Even if you have one hand on your BlackBerry, your baby bouncing on your lap and your ear on a conference call, you can still manage a few quick swigs of water,” says Bethenny. “I even struggle with it myself because I don’t love water, but your body needs it to detox and keep things moving, if you know what I mean.”
With all her varied roles, you’d think it would be difficult for Bethenny to sum herself up in just a few words. But she has her priorities straight. “I’m most definitely a businessperson, but I’m most proud of being a mother,” she says. “Ever since I had Bryn, I make all my decisions based on what’s best for her, so that’s how I define myself now.”
