Bill Nye the Science Guy: Is He OK After Collapsing On Stage?

bill nye the science guy

Why did Bill Nye the Science Guy collapse?

Bill Nye the Science Guy gave the audience quite a scare yesterday when he collapsed while delivering a speech at the University of Southern California. One minute the Emmy-winning former host of the popular kids’ science show was talking, and the next he fell down. Will he be all right?

He remained unconscious for about 10 seconds before looking toward the audience and asking how long he’d been out. Soon after paramedics arrived on the scene, but it’s unclear if Nye got treatment or if it’s a sign of something more serious. It’s also unclear why he collapsed.

He did tell the audience that he’d suffered a similar incident early in the day scary! We hope he is all right and makes a full recovery. His publicist put out this statement: “Bill Nye is feeling much better after a good night’s rest. He says he pushed himself too hard after a long day of an early satellite media tour combined with a late night speech. ”

Do you have any fun memories of the “Science Guy” show?
