Things got heated with Bill O’Reilly on The View today, as a fight broke out which caused Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar to walk off the stage (video).
Already, an online fight is breaking out over who is right Bill O’Reilly or The View ladies (well, Joy and Whoopi, in this case)? Even if they disagreed with O’Reilly, should Joy and Whoopi have walked?
Bill O’Reilly is a guest on the program and O’Reilly always stirs the pot, so they have to anticipate that it’s not going to always be a civilized discussion. No doubt they know that by now.
But… since the show is called The View, and the point of the chatfest is to have the co-hosts and guests talk about different sides of every topic, there should be some level of professionalism, even when not everyone sees eye-to-eye.
I wouldn’t want to hang in the same room as Bill O’Reilly… but it’s their job to sit there and present their view. Maybe they should have stood their ground and not let O’Reilly get the upper hand?
Barbara Walters commented after the ladies stormed off, “You have just seen what should not happen … we should be able to have discussions without washing our hands and screaming and walking off stage.”
So, who’s right here? Should the ladies of The View always act professionally… even if they disagree with a guest?
