Blake Shelton Explains Taylor Swift, Jake Gyllenhaal Break Up

By shellthings |

Taylor SwiftOne thing should be clear after last night’s ACM Awards: you do not mess with one of Country Music’s darlings.

Hosts Blake Shelton and Reba McEntire said they weren’t going to get into all the celebrity scandals, but they did talk about Taylor Swift and Jake Gyllenhaal’s break up.

Of Taylor Swift, Reba said “She’s beautiful, she’s talented, she’s sweet. What in the world was Jake Gyllenhaal thinking anyway?”

And then Blake Shelton replied, “Wait a minute, he was in Brokeback Mountain!”

Guess dumping the ACM Entertainer of the Year doesn’t sit well with the country music crowd!

Wow, homophobia at its best! You bigots should be so proud!

  2. SonicX says:

Blake Shelton and Reba McEntire deserve to get their butts kicked for making a homophobic joke like this. The insinuation that there is something “wrong” with Jake for dumping Taylor (they were only together for what, maybe two months if that? not a big deal so why make it so?) only to follow it up with a played out, overused Brokeback Mountain gay reference is not only completely unoriginal, it’s a homophobic slur which Shelton should be pulled up for.

  3. Bill says:

    Heterosexual douchebaggery at its finest!

  4. stuart says:

What a stupid idiotic statement from Blake Shelton – he did himself no favors or do all country fans think like that? Where is the outrage over his comment or are all the “fans” OK with that? That is disgusting.
