Boos On Dancing With the Stars: Were They For Jennifer Grey's Scores Or Sarah Palin? VIDEO

Was Sarah Palin booed on Dancing with the Stars?

Were the boos on “Dancing with the Stars” tonight for Sarah Palin, as many are suggesting? Or was the audience booing the (some might argue) low scores for the sensational Jennifer Grey? Let’s look at the evidence, including the video.

The boos began at exactly the moment the judges had finished reading Grey and Derek Hough’s scores. Grey and Hough had danced a phenomenal jive, and they received 8s across the board. But the audience clearly thought they deserved 9s, or maybe even 10s, based on their reaction to the dance.

Though some are saying that Palin had just arrived at that moment, I think I saw a clip of her in the audience before that so the audience was not booing her arrival. They may have been booing when they saw Tom Bergeron get out of his post-Grey collapse pretzel pose (wow, does he do yoga?) and move over to Palin, clearly ready to do the interview, but we can’t be sure the audience actually knew where he was going.

On Twitter there was even speculation that the crowd was booing an unseen Palin heckler, but I haven’t seen any evidence of that.

Co-host Brooke Burke, who was looking down at something at her side (a cue card? a reminder to use facial expressions?) when the boos began, was no help, as usual, one of the reasons she needs to be replaced.

My first reaction was that the boos were for Grey’s scores, and right they were any 50-year-old who can move like that deserves straight 10s! But my husband thinks they were for Palin. What do you think? The link to the video is here.
