A lot of dads have found themselves in country star Brad Paisley’s shoes: their wife goes out of town, and leaves an over-the-top list of dos-and-don’ts for taking care of the kids. Dads aren’t idiots, after all. Most of them can handle the kids for a few days without causing major bodily harm.
But rather than get bent out of shape about the detailed instructions left behind by wife Kimberly Williams-Paisley, Brad–who has a bit of a reputation as a prankster–got even.
With the help of his bandmates, Brad bought a life-size doll that he dressed up to look like his then 2-year-old son, Huck. According to People.com, Brad then filmed the doll Huck in a series of mom’s-worst-fears-come-true escapades: including careening down a steep hill and shooting a gun.
The result? The short film, When Mom’s Away, which is showing at the Nashville Film Festival on April 22. So is this the first installment in a new career path for Paisley? Don’t count on it. “”I’m not a director, and I’m not a filmmaker of any kind,” Paisley says. “You’re just seeing me being a goof.”
