What’s worse than being a child in Hollywood with the spotlight always shining on you, whether you’d want it there or not? We think it’s being a child on reality television.
And what’s worse than being a child on reality television? Why, appearing on any one of Bravo Network’s Real Housewives series.
Through our research, we just can’t find anything positive about being on television with your mom and dad making total fools out of themselves in front of the entire country.
Following today’s tragic news of the death of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hill’s Russell Armstrong, – which has surely rocked the entire franchise – we can’t help but wonder, shouldn’t the children of reality television stars be taken off the shows? Haven’t they suffered enough? The cat fights, the divorces, the bankruptcies, the custody battles… you name it, they’ve seen it.
We couldn’t imagine being Danielle Staub’s kids or Teresa Giudice’s daughters (can you imagine the bullying that they probably deal with at school?) or any of the stars’ children for that matter. It’s one thing to look back at your childhood memories in an old film or photo album, but to have it all on television for the country to see is probably something the kids don’t want to look back on when they’re older.
What do you think? Should children be allowed to be taped on reality television shows? Are these shows helping document their childhood or harming it instead?
