Breaking News! Celebrity Moms and Dads Rally for Hurricane Sandy Disaster Relief! NBC Telethon With Matt Lauer, Christina Aguilera, Bruce Springsteen, Billy Joel And More!

Christina Aguilera

When disaster hits, Celebrities are always there to help out! We have seen it so many times!!  Gisele BündchenMadonna, Sandra Bullock and Gwen Stefani are a few celebrity parents who have stepped up to write a check and or physically work on re-building these disasters.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie among other Hollywood Moms and Dads were very instrumental and still working on re-building New Orleans!

It was just reported that Walt Disney Co. will be donating $2million  to the Sandy Disaster Relief!

This Friday Deadline Hollywood Reports  “In response to the widespread devastation caused by Hurricane Sandy, the networks of NBCUniversal — including NBC, Bravo, CNBC, E!, G4, MSNBC, Style, Syfy and USA will join forces to air a one-hour live benefit telethon, “Hurricane Sandy: Coming Together,” on Friday, November 2 (8-9 pm ET).”

If you have not been to New York, you should know that Rockefeller Studios is one of the most amazing and magical places to go visit!  Especially, if you are a true fan of TV, Movies and Radio!

When you walk the street and see the signs, you can only begin to imagine the entertainment history of the complex and it’s far-reaching impact on everyone you know.  So much television history is linked to the NBC Studios in New York City.

You can envision your mom and dad watching the television show Howdy Doody in black and white.  From the time I was old enough to stay up late enough, I remember watching Saturday Night Live.  And now, the facade of the famous building at 30 Rockefeller Plaza is forever linked to the hilarious Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin.

The Today Show started there in 1952 and still shoots there every morning.  Johnny Carson started his The Tonight Show run in the NBC Studios in New York before moving to Los Angeles.  Stars of every conceivable profession from News to Sports to TV to Film have graced it’s halls.

“The show will be “Hosted by NBC “Today” anchor Matt Lauer, the telethon will be broadcast from the New York studios of NBC at 30 Rockefeller Plaza.”  The event will feature performances by artists including Christina Aguilera (NBC’s “The Voice”), Jon Bon Jovi, Billy Joel, Bruce Springsteen and Sting, and appearances by Jimmy Fallon (NBC’s “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon”) and NBC News’ Brian Williams.

It will air live on the  East Coast and tape-delayed on the West.  Additional networks could join the broadcast of the telethon prior to airtime and the telethon will be live-streamed on NBC.com.

The Money collected will be donated to the American Red Cross relief efforts for Hurricane Sandy.

We all can make a difference! Even if we can’t write a check, we can donate blood, go through old clothes and toys and electronics and send it over! If you can imagine even dog food is needed! I had friends posting on facebook pictures of shelves at the grocery stores bare!  Check out some details below on how you can help and spread the word!

The American Red Cross response to Sandy is very large and will be very costly, affecting a massive area spanning much of the eastern half of the country. Financial donations help the American Red Cross provide shelter, food, emotional support and other assistance to those affected by disasters like Hurricane Sandy. To donate, people can visit www.redcross.org, call 1-800-RED-CROSS or text the word REDCROSS to 90999 to make a $10 donation.
