The state of Pennsylvania has dropped the child labor investigation against the producers of Jon and Kate Plus 8, who were accused of violating the state’s child labor laws in the course of filming the hit television series. No charges will be filed, according to People.
According to a letter made public today, the producers must obtain a set of permits if they wish to film the Gosselin children, going forward. They also must set aside a portion of the profits into a trust fund for the kids.
Despite his recent allegations that Kate is an absentee parent and his decision to seek primary custody of their eight kids, Jon Gosselin defended his and Kate’s decision to televise their children’s upbringing in the first place. Via Twitter @jongosselin1: “Kate and I were doing what is best for our family. And it gave us an opportunity to spend quality family time together.”
Sure. Looking back in ten years, I’m sure they’ll see it that way.
