True to form, Sarah Palin has continued her campaign against “the media” — the tabloid media, to be specific. Apparently, her latest sneak attack on the liberal media elites has come in the form of an In Touch magazine cover that nobody wants to buy. Haha, that’ll teach em… you betcha.
Sarah may have parlayed her VP candidacy into a bestselling book and a gig at Fox News, but apparently her fans don’t buy gossip mags. The politically-charged pro-life cover features both Sarah and her daughter Bristol holding their babies above a headline that reads “We’re Glad We Chose Life.”
In all seriousness, I’m surprised that the cover hasn’t been a big success for In Touch. From the NY Post:
“In Touch Weekly’s gamble on Sarah Palin didn’t pay off. The magazine paid $100,000 for a cover story on the former Alaska governor and her daughter, Bristol, for the current issue. But, despite Palin’s huge book sales and TV ratings, sources said In Touch sold about 500,000 copies on newsstands, about half the number it sold a few weeks ago with the late Brittany Murphy on the cover. Insiders said political covers don’t usually sell well for supermarket weeklies. In Touch will return to Hollywood this week with Angelina Jolie on the front page.”
Weird. For whatever reason (maybe the fact that America’s getting tired of the Palins), Sarah’s cover was a bit of a flop.
