Bristol Palin Dancing With the Stars: Bristol's Scores Were Waaaay Too High!

Bristol Palin Dancing with the Stars finale: Her scores were way too high!

Either the judges saw completely different performances than I did, or they’re applying different scales to different couples. Bristol Palin’s “Dancing with the Stars” finale scores were way too high tonight! I cannot believe they gave the same scores to her first dance and Kyle Massey’s first dance, both earning 27s.

I’m not sure how that could be possible. Kyle’s footwork was crisp, his timing was great, his musicality was off the charts (thanks, Carrie Ann, for teaching me a new word), and his charisma brought everyone into the dance. Bristol … certainly didn’t embarrass herself, but she doesn’t pick up her feet, and she never gets immersed in the dance as Kyle and Jennifer Grey do.

The freestyle scores were even more ridiculous. Len Goodman really thought Kyle’s “Tootsie Roll” and Bristol’s “Chicago” tribute deserved the same number? Most of the season the judges have focused more on applauding her for trying and being technically sound than being a good dancer. This is the finals. They should have been tougher or they should have given Kyle higher scores.

What do you think?
