Suddenly, after days of insisting that Cam Newton will play on Saturday, Auburn has turned coy. Does that mean Cam Newton is suspended? Will Cam Newton play on Saturday?
The very latest is that Auburn athletic director Jay Jacobs is refusing to comment on the star QB’s status, after two days ago insisting he would play against Georgia.
This comes as the Cam Newton investigation heats up. Yesterday a former Mississippi State player told ESPN Radio that Cecil Newton, Cam’s father, had met with MSU coaches and insisted that his son’s services would cost between $100,000 to $180,000.
Cecil has denied any wrongdoing, and Cam practiced with the first team as usual today. Will he play in tomorrow’s game? We’ll just have to wait and see.
