Camila McConaughey on Her Pregnancy: Mood Swings, Yes; Cravings, No!

Matthew and Camila McConaughey.

The amazing thing about pregnancy (okay, one of the amazing things) is that it’s never the same experience twice. When you have the first one, you think you have it all figured out, only to discover with Baby #2 that you have more morning sickness, less fatigue, gain more or less weight, or something else entirely.

Camila (Alves) McConaughey is already an experienced mom of two with husband Matthew – children Levi and Vida are four and two-and-a-half – but she’s finding this third pregnancy to be a whole new ball game.

She tells People, “This pregnancy has been a little…different,” adding that she’s much more emotional the third time around. “Anything you can feel in a pregnancy, I’m feeling in this one. So put it all in the pile, that’s how I’m feeling.”

The other difference she’s noticing is in her food preferences: “I don’t really have cravings yet.” The McConaugheys have the added challenge of having to meet two separate dietary needs: Camila’s pregnancy means she needs extra calories, while Matthew is cutting back in order to lose weight for a role.

But the one thing everyone can agree on is that they’re over the moon about the new arrival, due later this year. Even the kids are getting into the act. Matthew has said that Levi and Vida danced and sang when they heard the news.

And what are they hoping for? “One of them wants a brother, the other one wants a sister and then they switch the next day.”

How exciting for everyone!
