Who makes the Cannes Film Festival 2011 best and worst dressed list? We’ve seen some celeb moms grace the red carpet and give press interviews that have represented fashion hits and misses… here’s a roundup of the best and worst dressed moms at Cannes, plus photos.
Uma Thurman – I really love Uma’s choice of white, with a gorgeous dress that doesn’t have all that much going on – a simple and classic line that shows off her skinny frame, with a bit of scalloped details at the sleeves and hemline. Uma’s dress is by Dolce & Gabbana. Uma’s evening look, however, makes our Cannes worst dressed list – check out the photo of Uma in white again, with a dress that gets bonus points for the beautiful back, but misses the mark with the feathery skirt.
Angelina Jolie – Stunning, as always. Seriously, does Angelina ever get it wrong? Angelina Jolie is seen here with Dustin Hoffman for a photo call in Cannes. Jolie’s choice of a belted, nude flowing frock really suits her and is a great choice for the press appearances she has to make. Angelina is wearing a dress by Salvatore Ferragamo. We’ll have more updates on what she wears this evening, so stay tuned. (See more of Angelina Jolie in her Today show Kung Fu Panda 2 interview)
Salma Hayek – At first glance, I loved what Salma was wearing, but upon closer inspection, I’m not so sure. The color is fantastic and I love her choice of a simple ponytail (how many regular moms employ that same hairstyle?), but I’m not so sure about the leather dress and the flowery bolero. Salma hit the red carpet for Puss in Boots in the Gucci dress, showing off her gorgeous curves, but I think I’d like it in a different fabric. I’d also love to see it without the flowers on top – maybe something with a little less poof to it. But how about those shoes? Love. (By contrast, isn’t it funny that Antonio Banderas was at the event wearing super casual jeans?)
Salma Hayek’s silver evening gown, however, was a total fashion hit! Beautiful, head to toe!
