Carrie Underwood Thinks Marriage Is Like Dating: Will Having Kids Be Like Babysitting?

Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher

Newlyweds, Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher

Ahh…newlyweds. Most of us were there once too, remember?  Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher have only been married for two months, and she’s definitely still in that whole, “I love my new hubby so much and can’t stop gushing about him” phase. You know, the phase that makes people who have been married for a long time want to gag?

Carrie graces the cover of Women’s Health in the October issue, and in her interview she says that marriage really doesn’t feel any different to her. She says, “It’s a lot like dating.” She adds that since she and her new husband Mike both have hectic careers, sometimes their schedules “don’t click.”

Translation: She barely sees the dude. No wonder she’s so smitten.

Underwood admits to loving days when she doesn’t have much to do, and says a typical routine for her consists of “sleeping in, working out, and doing laundry.”  Hmm…if her singing career doesn’t pan out for some reason, I’m thinking that she may be a good fit for Jersey Shore.

Since it sounds like Carrie doesn’t yet know what marriage is really like, I have to admit that I can’t wait to read her first interview after she has kids. I wonder if she’ll compare motherhood to babysitting?

I think that Carrie needs to break-in her marriage a little more before she goes down that road. I’d be curious to hear her thoughts on being married after being up all night with a screaming infant who has had five diaper explosions while Mike is busy playing hockey in some other city.
