Celebrating Breastfeeding! Kelly Preston, Jenna Elfman and Laila Ali Host First-Ever Event (Photos)Shana Aborn
For all its benefits, breastfeeding is still a hot-button issue among mothers, many of whom run into roadblocks in their efforts to nurse their babies for the recommended 12 months. Even in the celebrity world, moms get criticism and raised eyebrows when they breastfeed their children in public.
To address the issue, celebs and breastfeeding proponents Jenna Elfman, Kelly Preston and Laila Ali hosted a first-of-its-kind event in partnership with Best for Babes and Healthy Child Healthy World. The event highlighted information about both breastfeeding topics and nontoxic living practices. Presenting sponsors Leading Lady and Ameda displayed their products.
Jenna, who held the afternoon tea at her home, said, “Education and awareness are the first steps. No one can do everything, but everyone can do something, and every action counts.”
The famous moms hope that this will help prompt others in Hollywood lend their support to breastfeeding and natural-living causes, which in turn could help millions of mothers get the information they need to give the best start to their children.
