Celebrity Networth Crashes: How Daniel Tosh Brought It Down

Daniel Tosh knocked Celebrity Networth offline

Celebrity Networth is a nifty site where you can find out how much money celebrity parents like Demi Moore ($75 million girl done good) or Hulk Hogan ($30 million seems low?) make. It’s sort of addictive, but it wasn’t available last night. Comedy Central host Daniel Tosh mentioned the celebrity worth site on his show, “Tosh.0,” which sent people to it by the hundreds of thousands.

Problem is, celebritynetworth.com wasn’t prepared to deal with such a huge traffic overload. It was knocked offline for a while after the show aired as his viewers inundated the site with requests.

The site is run via WordPress, a much-used blogging site, and by early this morning it was back online. You could easily get sucked into spending minutes (fine, hours) on the site as you search out who’s worth what, so beware.

As for Tosh, it’s not clear from the clip posted on Comedy Central whether he asked his fans to overload the site, as some are suggesting online this morning, or whether they just surfed on over after watching his bit. But he’s getting a lot of kudos for the deed on Twitter.

In case you’re curious, here are the celeb salaries (some for parents!) he noted on last night’s show. Sinbad is in a bad way, people.

Steve O 2.5 million

Bam Margera — $45 million

Hulk Hogan — $30 million

Stuart Scott — $15 million

Dr. Drew — $20 million

Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore — $50 million and $75 million

Sinbad $50,000

“Dog Whisperer” Caesar Milan — $4.5 million

Amanda Seyfried — $4.5 million

Master P — $661 million

Suge Knight — $0

Hugh Hefner — $45 million

Larry Flynt — $400 million

Daniel Tosh (-$400,000)
