Charlie Sheen continues to claim that he is not an anti-Semite, and that he doesn’t hate Chuck Lorre because of his “Jewishness”. Sheen says that he hates him for other reasons, and now he has decided to fight back against a Jewish organization for insinuating he’s an anti-Semite.
The organization, the Anti-Defamation League, said that Sheen exhibited “borderline anti-Semitism” when he called Two and a Half Men creator Chuck Lorre by his Hebrew name: Chaim Levine.
Sheen’s lawyer, hard-hitting Marty Singer, sent a letter to the ADL demanding that they issue a retraction to the statements. He stated that Sheen was only trying to “address the man rather than his television persona.”
Back in February, Lorre referred to himself by the name Chaim on a vanity card and that Lorre referred to “a lifetime of distancing himself from Judaism.” Because of this supposed statement, Singer even hinted that AVL should publicly denounce Lorre because he showed “disdain for the Jewish religion.”
