Charlize Theron: Motherhood Feels "So Right!"

Charlize Theron adores her son, Jackson.

We could have told Charlize Theron this long ago, but like any other mother, she had to find out for herself.

The new mom – she adopted son Jackson just a few weeks ago – is discovering that having a child changes you so completely that you can’t even fathom what or who you were before.

Promoting her new film, Snow White and the Huntsman, Charlize was asked by E!News’s Giuliana Rancic (herself a mom-to-be) whether being a mom was what she’d expected it to be. “It’s strangely everything you hoped for and it feels so right. I don’t know how else to say it,” she replied. “I feel like I can’t remember anything prior to him – I feel like it was always just meant to be what it is.”

And though Charlize relished the chance to go against type and play the ultimate evil stepmom – she screamed so violently while filming one scene that she tore a stomach muscle! – she has nothing but love in her heart as a real-life mother.

“Every day I’m just like, ‘It’s not possible to love you more,’ and then twenty minutes later you’re like, ‘Oh, my God! How is it possible?!’”

Charlize also opens up about motherhood in the new issue of InStyle, out later this week. “So far I’m not surprised by anything about being a mom,” she tells the magazine. “It’s all pretty great – but that’s what I expected.”

Of course, it helps if you have a good role model to help you along the journey, and Charlize says she has one of the best. “I can only hope to be ten percent of the mom mine was to me,” she says. “She encouraged me to be confident and enjoy life. That’s what I want for my son.”

We have a feeling she’ll do just that.
