Super Bowl: Christina Aguilera National Anthem Flub, Black Eyed Peas Halftime ShowMichelle Lamar
Highlights of the Super Bowl XLV for the non-football fan include Christina Aguilera’s flub of the national anthem and the Black Eyed Peas halftime show. Neither of these musical performances were good!
First, Christina Aguilera messed up the national anthem…the words to the national anthem. The Star-Spangled Banner is a difficult song to sing, with its broad range and high notes. It’s a tough song to sing but most singers have a problem with singing the song—not remembering the words to the song. OUCH.
The Black Eyed Peas performed during the Super Bowl Half Time Show. The halftime show got very mixed reviews due to the lack luster performance of the band and the issues with the sound quality.
I’m a huge fan of the Black Eyed Peas but the sound quality was horrible and the Black Eyed Peas made poor song choices. It seems that Twitter agreed with me! There was an almost universal bashing of the Black Eyed Peas via Twitter tonight. Here’s a few of the best/worst Tweets:
God – never in my life have I wanted @kanyewest to interrupt a performance more. #superbowl #blackeyedpeas
Say what you will. For one brief shining moment Left and Right were united in loathing of #blackeyedpeas
